important was a fellow named kirk. and russell kirk was in many ways like buckley. and he was not like buckley. he was like buckley because of a very early age in kirk's case, 35 years old, assistant professor of what's now ch state, he wrote a book called the conservative mind from burke to eliot that became a sensation but it was really the backbone. and it was unlikely that such a book would become a sensation but it can't the attention of certain editors at "time" magazine. they have been, they ballyhooed a very high in a special fourth of july edition of the magazine in 1953, and the book took off. and kirk argued that burke is the true school of conservative thought. kirk argued that libertarians were too materialistic and what counted was what he called the permanent things, religion, tradition, community, art, literature. and he argued that, one of his phrases was you know, everything isn't about getting another piece of pie and another had a butter. society and what we are about, is about more important things than just economic growth. and he was very opposed to libertarians,

, waldorf, did you know kirk, getting light to moderate rainfall. you can see out toward the eastern shore, they're getting the brunt of this storm system dropping lots and lots of rain in a short amount of time. our michael and son weather camera on this saturday evening, we're looking at cloudy skies right now. it is muggy out there. temperatures 75 degrees. dew point in the 70s. that is why it's so humid and the winds are calm. now, temperatures elsewhere, 73 in gaithersburg. but still warm in leesburg. 79, manassas, 81. fredericksburg in the lower 80s. so we're going to cool things down tomorrow and monday. that's the good news aside from the unsettled weather though, we could be seeing sunday morning. i think for the most part should be dry for most of us. maybe areas of patchy fog. by the afternoon we're looking at scattered showers and thunderstorms. labor day even more storms are in the forecast and then flash flooding possible because some of those storms could produce some really heavy rain. our 9 futurecast, put this into motion. tomorrow morning again, overall i think it

have a disability access and green building subcommittee. we have a few issues that i think kirk prepared a handout. /5we have a few issues we are waiting right now. one of them is we heard the capital living space discussion. another one -- habitable living space discussion. another one is the waterñr botte filling stations. and ordinance to add that. we discussed that at our last meeting at quite a bit. i think there was a general support about the idea, but there was confusion aboutñr howe y really implemented. were with the targets be, how targets be, how would we implement them? is there a barrier between the water and the bottle? and so forth. detai1oárpá. i also want to mention there is c stat%xjf code -- an emergency packet of code revisions. i uf accessibility changes as well.
